Membership in the Lutheran Church is a formal step in faith, as we commit ourselves to a particular congregation. It is not a necessary step in order to partake in any of the services, sacraments, studies, etc. that are offered.
Membership does grant one the ability to vote at congregational meetings and/or to be a member of the congregational council. More importantly, membership is a way of marking a personal commitment to a particular family of God through its life, including joys, challenges, and struggles. It means prayerful and intentional support through service, volunteering and offerings.
If you are interested in becoming a member of Holy Spirit Lutheran Church, please contact the pastor or call the church office. We accept members through baptism, affirmation of baptism (confirmation), letters of transfer or release. Members are received in worship with a public rite of commitment and welcome.
We generally celebrate New Member Sundays twice a year. The best part is, we usually have cake those Sundays!
